There
are serious negative health effects of heat stress, exhaustion & stroke.
Employers are under pressure to meet & exceed health
regulations in the interest employee safety & productivity.
Excess & prolonged heat causes people to make errors
in judgment leading to unsafe work habits, endangering themselves
and others. This is all well and good as a theoretical mental exercise,
but when deadlines are present this becomes a real problem. Even
in situations where personnel are hot but not suffering from classic
stress, they become lethargic, uncomfortable, irritable and less productive.
Pre-
cooling prior to racing & during heats gives athletes
an edge.

Damp & cold conditions can cause muscle fatigue and cramping. Many sports
coaches are aware of injuries that occur in the torso
region from sudden or sustained impact- especially to the kidneys.
Being cold causes muscles to tense up and reduce their resilience
and flexibility. Frostbite and hypothermia are serious medical emergencies.
Our vests are very compact. They can be worn under a
coat with the heated gel packs. This makes them suitable for people
exposed to very cold environments, especially for prolonged periods of time.
